A bit about me.
Hi there!
I’m Ali. I love hugs. Also sunshine, exploring, & pups.
I’m a teacher.
If I learn something, I want to share it. Which is what led me to begin teaching movement during my undergrad studies in exercise science & nutrition at the Ohio State University. The more I learned about the human body & how impactful our actions & thoughts actually are, the more I wanted to teach anyone who would listen.
Then I began practicing yoga.
An academic yoga course in 2010 introduced me to a whole new way to view the world. It shifted how I experienced & interacted with myself then everything around me, massively influencing my life. As I deepened my practice, I felt that same urge to share what had shaped me (& continues to do so to this day). After graduating with my masters in kinesiology in 2013, I studied under Cyndi Lee to earn my 200 hour certification.
The teachings I share revolve around awareness, breath, & connection to inform alignment, build balance & uncover contentment. My intention is to offer practices to help you create the most hospitable body & mind to live in as well as invite you to tune in, befriend yourself, & ultimately tap in to inextricable human connection. My greatest goal is for you not only to feel good, but to experience the miraculousness of the present moment.
I truly thrive when I’m able to be of support for other humans. Whether its guiding a class through the practices of yoga, teaching mindfulness techniques to clients, or supporting someone by holding space & listening - helping helps me feel happy. It’s what wakes me up in the morning. Well, that & pranayama.
Through years of teaching, I’ve realized education isn’t always enough & have extended into coaching clients through goal setting, providing smart programming, & most importantly, the support required to do the work to reach those goals. While they have shared kind feedback about the work we’ve done together, my students are often some of my greatest teachers & sweetest sources of inspiration.
So, you can likely see why I am super lit up that I get connect with other humans & support them on their own journey simply by sharing what I’ve learned & showing up for them.
It’s what I do. it’s also become who I am. Which works well for me.
